Start from The centre of Cockermouth, folow the road east out of town and climb up onto Watch Hill. from here cross the River Derwnt’s valley heading towards Bewaldeth, a quick dog-leg to sidebag Binsey (the lowest of the Wainwright fells) then across fields to Uldae.

Transport. You can reach Cockermouth on the X4/5 bus from penrith station. For the next 3 days on the northern outskirts of the Lake District bus routes are few and far between so the leg between Cockermouth and Penruddock may be bets tackled in a 3 day block.
