Day 9 takes in some of the Loweswater Fells, a group of lesser visited fells in Wainwrights “NorthWestern Fells” book. Walkers with a lesser wainwrights obsession can avoid this section and follow the road round from Lamplugh for a lower level walk.

Start from Ennerdale Bridge walkwalk up to the shores of Ennerdale Water and then take backroads to Cogra Moss. From the moss climb up through tKnock and Murton Fells, up onto Blake Fell and Burnbank Fell before descending to the Loweswater Hotel.

Transport. Public transport options are sketchy at this point on the trail.
